Lay out newspapers in your flower beds, being sure to cover up the weeds and only expose the flowers. |

Once you have everything covered, give the flowerbed a good thorough soak and then cover it with mulch.  |

The newspaper is a great way to starve out the weeds but also it feeds the soil below. As  it decomposes, you’ll see that the worms will thank you as well! |
